ARMY PARATROOPER BADGE-BULLION EMBROIDERED

Common for Officers/NCOs

The Army Paratrooper Badge was awarded to German Army parachutists upon the completion of training, including five jumps. The soldier was required to make at least six jumps a year to remain qualified. Established on Sept. 1, 1937, the badge was awarded until the start of World War II, when all parachute units were placed under the control of the Luftwaffe. However, those who had earned the badge continued to wear it during the war, rather than the Luftwaffe version. It was worn on the left breast pocket. The badge features a diving eagle, in silver, surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves in gilt, topped by the Army eagle and swastika. The eagle is riveted to the wreath. The reverse is fitted with a simple pin-back. Our high-quality reproduction measures slightly more than two inches tall.
