WWII GERMAN LUFTWAFFE TUNIC SLEEVE EMBROIDERED CUFF TITLE-AFRIKA KORP

embroidered in grey thread on a blue backing

The Afrika campaign cuff title was created on 15 January 1943 for soldiers in all branches of the Luftwaffe who had served in the DAK during the North African campaign,
not to be confused with the Akrika Korps cuff title.

As with other cuff titles, when worn it is positioned 15cm from the end of the cuff, if a unit cuff title was already being worn then the new title should be sewn underneath, with the oldest at the top and photographic evidence can be sen of some soldier wearing two or even three titles. Again, they could be worn on the Tropical tunics, European theater tunics, greatcoats (Mantels) and even parade Waffenfrocks.

Being a military decoration award the cuff title was presented with a paper documentation to the soldier like many other combat awards such as the Iron Cross or General Assault award and documented in the soldiers service history and soldbuch.
EMBROIDERED ON WOOL.
